World Coma Day

In just one week`s time, on 22.03 from 20:00- 22:00 we would like to kindly invite you to the WORLD COMA DAY
The American Neurocritical Care Society (NCS), as part of its broader Curing Coma Campaign initiative (https://www.curingcoma.org/home), is organizing, for the third time, World Coma
Day on March 22 this year to raise public awareness of the issue.
Polish coma centers and institutions involved in helping coma patients have decided to join in the celebration of World Coma Day.
The motto of this year`s World Coma Day celebration is communication - and thus one of the biggest challenges facing both families and caregivers of comatose patients.
Invited specialists will tell you how to communicate with the patient when ordinary communication through words seems very difficult....
We cordially invite the families of patients and anyone who would like to learn more about coma!

The papers will be given by specialists from all over Poland:
  • Katarzyna Kasica (Akogo? Foundation, Warsaw) - Presentation Curing Coma Campaign
  • Dr. Bartosz Kunka (AssisTech Sp. z o.o., Gdansk) - Communication without barriers: discussion of tools supporting contact with the patient
  • Dr. Grzegorz Bilinski (University of Opole, Neurorehabilitation Opole) - Non-verbal communication with the patient
  • Joanna Celmer-Domańska, Monika Kumosińska-Ryś (Clinic Budzik for Children, Warsaw) - Practical application of communication with a patient coming out of a coma
  • Dr. Elżbieta Dróżdż-Kubicka (IPCZD, Warsaw, Clinic Alarm clock for Children, Warsaw) - Communication with the patient and his/her family from the perspective of nursing practice
  • Marta Brzozowska (PCRF "Votum", Sawice) - Alternative ways of communication of a comatose patient with his family from the perspective of the work of a neuropsychologist

The webinar begins at 20.00, in addition to the papers we anticipate a discussion with the participation of speakers and invited guests, led by Dr. Mark Binder (Jagiellonian University, Krakow). The event will conclude at 10 pm.
